The Poison Apple Cocktail
To me, a poison apple should be beautiful, bright, shiny, and seductive. And that is exactly what you get with these Poison Apple cocktails. The cherry apple garnish and swirling gold luster dust create a mesmerizing effect, just beckoning you to come take a sip. I served these drinks at my Hocus Pocus 2 watch party and they were a big hit. They are perfect to serve at a Halloween gathering, a fairy tale themed party, or any witchy and whimsical event you desire. I chose to use vodka but you could also do a dark/spiced rum instead as it will compliment the apple cider. If you donโt have tart cherry juice available, opt for another tart juice like cranberry as it lifts the flavor without being overpowering. And of course, leave out the alcohol entirely for a mock-tail. Now letโs make some drinks, shall we?๐ธ๐ท๐ฅ
Ingredients:
2 maraschino cherries with stems
2 oz vodka
1.75 oz spiced apple cider
1 oz tart cherry juice
pinch edible gold luster dust
cocktail skewer
First, snip the tip of your maraschino cherries so they resemble apple stems. Then, place one of the cherries into the empty martini glass. Now prepare your garnish by running the cocktail skewer through the other cherry. Set aside.
Add the rest of the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds. Strain into the martini glass, top with poison apple garnish, and enjoy. ๐โ ๏ธ
